Computer keeps shutting down.

My computer keeps shutting down with a couple minutes of me booting it up. (im using my old computer right now)

When I get to the desktop, I get this message that says......"windows cant open the file TFTP3008file, choose how you want to open this file" Then when I clik let windows take care of it it doesnt recognize this file. what file is this TFTP3008 anyways?

Now, when I go to run msconfig to disable this strange file at startup, msconfig opens but closes immediately and if it stays open I uncheck the box then when i re-start its checked again.

Now, within a couple of minutes i get this pop up "system shutdown" message that says>>> system shutdown initiated by NT authority, RPC (remote procedure call) terminated unexpectedly.

Can anyone please help?
Thanks.

Lenny

Sounds like you have some corrupt files. Can you boot with another drive and run a drive scanning utility on that drive?

sounds like a virus... run your antivirus in safe mode...

and also get adaware and run it.

I don't think it is a virus, I have been online now for a good 30 minutes with no problems, but I turned my firewall on, it has to be hackers or something...
