Graphics Crad: Opinions?

My girlfriend has a 4 year old Intel Celeron, Toshiba Laptop.

Her current graphics card (as far as I could tell by looking at the settings) is a: Trident Cyber9525DVD PCI/AGP W98 (22)

Does anyone know anything about this card?

Is it good?
Should she keep it and continue using it?
Is it worth buying a newer one for such a laptop?
Is this card okay for watching movies and dvd's?

Thanks.

Laptops don't use upgradable video cards.
It is built onto the motherboard, and cannot be changed.

Most definitely, that video will play DVD's just fine.
Don't know how well it will handle any games though...

But if you ever wanted to upgrade it, now that would be a problem.

That Trident chip is way old, yet it does contain DVD acceleration hardware (guess why the product name ...)

I see, I was thinking of upgrading it for her, you can tell I have never upgraded any bits in a laptop

I guess we will just go for some more ram then and maybe a fresh install without all the useless bells and whistles.
