HELP! Numerous ATI Radeon 8500DV Problems!

Problem 1:

When I record it only records 1:50 or sometimes ~15 minutes before it shuts the recording off automatically. The record button still shows it's recording but it cuts out early.

I have a 120 gig harddrive dedicated toward video so I know I'm not running out of space and none of my capture limit settings are on. All drivers are new and I've even had this problem with old drivers.

Problem 2:

The video is dark when I play in Windows Media player, ATI File Player, or any other player. Pictures are also dark. In order to view pictures properly I have to adjust the brightness in photoshop. When watching TV I tweak the color options in setup but it always overexposes bright whites. Any idea how to solve this problem for good?

I'd call ATI tech support and ask them these calls directly but ATI tech support leaves something to be desired.

Thanks guys,

John

Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers and multimedia center from www.ati.com and DirectX9?

Had the same problem. I think the drivers are borked. Mine worked before I installed the latest drivers. I've gotten no reply back from ATI on it either.

My TV fails to start. Remote is totally borked.

IF you ever get a reply from ATI forward it to me. One of these day's I'll take a day off of work so I can call them since they don't seem to have people answering their emails. Gotta love the automated responses they send
