IIS SMTP Service

The SMTP service won't start on our server. It says:

"The Service did not respond to the Start or Control Request in a timely fashion"

I've checked MS knowledgebase and all I find is that I should have the MS Network Client installed. I have that installed, yet it still doesn't work.

Help Please.

Ok I reinstalled the SMTP service and it's running now.

But it's not sending mail! The mail just ends up in queue. There's a domain in the service with the servername(local)...

I don't know how to make it send the emails!

this might not be relevant, but are u running zonealarm?
zonealarm doesnt particularly like IIS and any of its services

I got it all set up. Thanks anyway. Zonealarm was never an issue, since we don't use it.
