Create Diamond Effects in Photoshop

Here is my not so good looking tutorial. I had to do it this way because i have No web space to save all the images to. Open the jpg at the bottom of this tutorial. Tell me if you have ANY probs. The rest is in the next few post.

1. First make a plain text (black). It would be best if this text is large. [fig 1]

2. Rasterize this layer (right click on the layer then click rasterize). [fig 2]

3. Select each letter with the magic wand while holding the shift key.

4. Click on filter>render>clouds. [Fig 3]

5. Click filter>distort>glass. [fig 4]

6. Make distortion 20, make smoothness around 3 or less (depending on your choosing, make the texture tiny lens (also works with frost) , and make the scaling watever you like the bigger the scale the bigger your diamonds look (i keep mine around 80%). [fig 5]

7. This is what you should have now. [fig 6]

8. Now lets make a border. add a stroke style. Make the size somewhere between 4 and 10 depending on the size of your font. Make the position center, the fill to gradient and the color must be the copper gradient. do NOT press ok yet. [fig 7]

9. now apply a bevel and emboss style (check the box next to it then click on the style). Set the style to stroke emboss. Raise the depth alot. Set the size to whatever you set the size to on the stroke style. In the shading section set the Gloss contour to ring (if you hold your mouse over the contour option it will say what kind it is). Then press ok. [fig 8]

10. Go to image>adjustments> Hue and Saturation. Then move Saturation all the way up. Apply some to hue and press ok. (this never changes anything for me but i think im using it wrong. I was told to do this for a more gold look. If you figure it out please pm me.) [fig 9]

11. Add a black background

12. Now lets add some shine. Make a new layer. Get your brush tool out. Click on brushes in the top right hand corner. Click the little arrow then click assorted brushes. Go down the list til you see a brush called Starburst - Small. Click on it and make your foreground color white. [fig 10]
