recomended mobo for Athlon MP?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a mobo for a dual athlon MP system but dont know what to look for. If I were going to buy a single proc system I would get the nforce2 mobos but i havent seen them make one for dual procs yet so I was wondering if any of you had some suggestions. The only thing that I ask is that the board works well with *nix or BSD and that its made buy Asus or Abit. Thanks again for any help you can provide.

Some people like the MSI K7D Master mobo's for their overclocking features, and the price. You may want to check out these boards, see if they'd suit your needs.

Cool thanks!

Of those 2 (the MSI and the GIGABYTE) I assume the gigabyte would be faster?

Dunno about faster. But I will garuntee you the MSI will be easier to setup and get going more quickly. Its also a rock solid mobo-which is what really counts. Most who have owned gigabyte dont go back if that tells you anything. VERY bad bios's on SOME of those mobo's. Like flakey multi settings and it not holding your mem settings-weird stuff like that.
