nForce SoundStorm SUCKS!!

I am tired of playing games and after an hour or so and then all of the sudden it gets static sounding. What can fix this??? Anyone know if there are drivers that fix this??

New drivers may or may not solve your sound problems... there's no gaurantee. Unfortunately, you'll just have to try and hope (or stick with current situation).

Check out the forums at http://www.nforcershq.com and especially the nForce Audio & HTPC section.

The nForce 2.45 package really messed up my system's IDE drivers so I had to format and clean install WinXP. I'm sticking with 2.03 for now. Others had great success with 2.45, go figure.

I havn't had any problems at all with SoundStorm with either the 2.03 or 2.45 UDP so it doesn't suck on my system, but results vary. I've read somewhere that an over-heated South Bridge can sometimes cause audio problems. Maybe a heatsink on the SB would fix it on your system?

it is caused by an overheated southbridge. either add a larger hs or one with an active fan.

I use to have this problem. But it seems to have gone away. I think it wa sbecasue I updated the drivers. Sound Strom is the best onboard sound I have ever used. Its sound quality is as good as my friend's Audigy two.
