WINDOWS XP HELP!!

I got his 'error' a few times it says
"This systme is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"
Then my system shuts down? what is this all about please help me thanks.

Hmm, are you running this as a client on a network or something, like at work???
What it sound like to me is either someone initiated the shutdown command, or you have it scheduled in your Sceduled Tasks Folder.
To check, look in your scheduled tasks folder for it.

no, I checked the scheduled tasks and its not there. I am either on the internet browsing or using ordinary programs.

the same thing happened to me and i ended up reinstalling windows

you cant even see your antivirus right

No, i can see my antivirus. But i have never heard of this problem so i am a little worried.

Isnt there an XP bug that microsoft announced on july 16th that can allow anyone remote administrative access through a buffer underun of some sort? Whens the last time you ran windows update (they patched it with a critical update)

Aw man it is starting to happen alot more now it is scarying the hell out of me! After it says NT Authority under that is says 'Message: Windows is restarting now because the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) unexpectedly terminated'

I saw this on 2 machines today and am still not sure what it is. Both have been removed from the network.
