How to log in as root on knoppix?

I would I go about logging in as root on knoppix?

you are root when you log into knoppix


if you want to write to your hard drive you had to open a terminal window and type:

sudo mount -o remount,rw /mnt/hda1


or right click the drive icon and uncheck the "read only" box.

well im having problems partitioning and noticed theres a proggy in knoppix and it said i must be logged in as root, i guess i alrready am. ok thanks

hmmm partition image isnt one......anybody know of a good one?

There's cfdisk,fdisk,GNUParted...probably a couple more I havent thought of.

You are user "knoppix" when you log into Knoppix. The only way I've found to run apps as root is to go:

Kmenu > Knoppix > root terminal

and start apps from there.
