A7N8X-X DDR Dual channel

I have 2 512 PC2700 DDR Ram sticks in slot 1 and 3 but when the machine posts it only says singal mode????

XP 2600
2X512 MB PC2700
Nvidia 5200
maxtor 80 gig HD 7200

Put them in slots 2 and 3 the blue ones.

I swapped the sticks to 2- 3 and the post still says singal mode do I have to set this up in bios?

I am seeing all of the memory on the post its just not switching to dual channel mode.

yes update the bios to the newest and it should post in dual channel mode

uses asus autoupdater from the motherboard cd so you can update the bios in windows

i just did it this morning, easy and painless.

my bios version is 1.4 which version of bios did you update?

I had the same problem . I updated to 1.5 and it fixed it.

As far as I know, the x-x is a budget mobo and will not run dual channel. A BIOS update may fix the problem, but looking at the Asus web site, it states that it won't.

If you are updating the BIOS, make sure your system is not oc'd as it will f*** up the update.
