Memory bad? All three sticks, overnight?

Hey all.

My problem is that I built a machine last night, installed XP pro and everything worked fine.

It turned it on this morning and it beeps like the memory is bad. I tried all three sticks of memory (2 128s and a 32) individually, and together, and I tried them all individually in each of the three slots.

What could it be thats doing that?

I took the whole mobo off to tmake sure there was no short. for the hell of it i cleared the cmos.

The only thing I did to the machine between startups was put in a video card, but now thats not even in the machine and i get no memory read.

Ahhhh. Thanks people.

What kind of board, processor and memory are you using? I'm also curious as to how can you get no memory read without a Video card?

The mobo is aopen mx64, pIII 600 mhz, pc100 ram. The memory read is just the beep from the system speaker. Thanks

To be somewhat sure, download a software based memory tester here..

You will also get these beeps if your CPU is not seeded correctly.
Unplug your comp & apply pressure to your CPU & see if the beeping goes away.

Well I've checked the CPU, he RAm, basically Ive rebuilt the computer for the fourth time, and I still get beeps. Doesn't seem like Ram because ram doesn't usually go bad, but I don't think it's the CPU. It worke fine the day before and I heard nothing or noticed nothing unusual.

Who knows-- anything would help. Thanks guys.

Try disabling all the onboard motherboard things you can in the BIOS (if you can get into it that is). Also disconnect all drives except the floppy or hard drive.

Thanks -- I tried, but I cant get into the BIOS at all. I get no display.

And the only thing plugged in is the HD, Ram, CPU.

One time it did load up when i had a stick of 32. Then I tried it again and it didn't do anything.

AHH

Thanks again.

I know this sounds wierd, but check the voltage on the power supply.
