98lite for W2k???

I need to uninstall Internet Explorer due to some errors. I used to use 98lite to do it. Can I still use it on W2k or is there some other app I need?

I don't think it'll work.

But anyways, there is no need to "uninstall" explorer. You can try reparing it or reinstalling Windows if you suspect you may have some corrupt files.

But with Win2k I don't understand how it'd be possble to get rid of Explorer and still expect Windows to function. Explorer is Windows.

Explorer = Windows = Explorer = Windows

Internet Explorer, not explorer.

The only problem is I already have W2k installed. I don't really want to have to format and do it all again. I'll do it though if there is no other way.

I think that's the only way to do it for now. Once IE is installed, it's into every part of Windows... Ever since MS started this garbage, I've never liked it.

There is an uninstall method availiable, and it works on 2k and XP. However I must warn you, the MMC (Computer Managment) things require IE, and won't work without it.
Also, a 2k system must be pre-SP2 and XP must not have SP1 installed AND they must have system file protection disabled so the files aren't replaced right away.

It says only for 98/ME, but I've used it on 2k/XP. However, as I say, some things won't work if you remove it.

98lite can remove ie from a 2000 computer, but not after a certain release...

http://www.litepc.com/ has a beta now for a whole 2000/XP lite setup (for their paying customers only though)

http://www.litepc.com/download/IEradicator2001.zip worked for me on a vanilla 2000 install to remove IE

I downloaded IE eradicator and it worked fine. I had SP4 too. Now I'm up and running good. Thanks all.
