Strange CDRW

After having my CDRW (Lite On 48/12/48) read alot of CDs today, it stopped working. The tray only closed half way when I hit the eject button. Afterwards, the tray wouldn't open at all. The drive itself felt warm.

Anyways, I got a RMA from Newegg. As I was taking it out, I gave it a small whack, plugged it back in and it started working again.

Should I still RMA it?

It might have been that the gears misaligned and your whack realigned them. If it were my machine, I'd probably RMA it. With my luck, it wouldn't happen again until the warranty ran out and then it would be a permanent problem that the whack would not fix.

I guess I'm really lucky. Newegg gives a 1 year warrenty right? I bought this exactly 1 year ago today.
