Gaming apache2/perl/php help!!

i am about FED UP with this... i'm running a webserver, standalone machine for it, windows 2k pro. and i CAN NOT get cgi scripts to work, i keep getting this error message when i type in 127.0.0.1/(FOLDER OF SCRIPT)/index.cgi :

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, eclipser@adelphia.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

and i have went through the apache config file and set everything for cgi scripts as the help file in apache said to do.
if anyone can help , i know i am probably leaving out alot of good information, but i don't really know what it is... and also if you have any suggestions on a better/easier webserver to setup/run cgi scripts would be LET ME KNOW =P. thanks

IIS works

What CGI script(s) are you trying to run? Do you have permissions set correctly for the scripts?
