Anyone using a TDK 420N DVD +R/+RW Burner?

I can't seem to get the firmware updated from 1.36 to 1.39. I followed the instruction they have on the TDK site, but no luck! I just get a "Flash Error" message. Normally, this would make most devices inoperable after a bad flash. However, the light just stays on after I get this error message and after I reboot the system, the DVD burner works normally again as if I never had a bad flash.

I'm running Windows XP Pro and I've tried the following:

1. Disabling the other CDROM device (Yamaha F1 CD Burner) on the IDE1 chain other than the TDK 420N as the site suggested.

2. I've tried disconnecting the F1 burner having just the TDK 420N connected.

3. I've tried re-downloading the firmware incase the first one was corrupted.
