The BIOS Flash I got works !!!!!
8XAGP Support ENABLED now operational!!!!!!!
The files I received from Henry@MSI
awfl822a.exe
6570_4m_4.7xx (to Dos Flash rename to 6570_4m4.7xx or filename will be too long)
I will reserve final judgement till I can do much more testing but I have completed the following and NO PROBLEMS:
3DMark2003 - 6443 (up from 6409)
All settings set to best performance no AA no AF
3DMark2003 - 3871 (up from 1850)
All settings set to Best Quality 4xAA 8xAF Texture Sharpening
3DMark2003(test2) - 6441
3DMark2003(test3) - 6438
Note: Before this Bios Flash 3DMark2003 with 8XAGP Support Enabled, would always Freeze-up in Game Test 2 battle of Proxycon and I would have to turn off computer to re-start
Command & Conquer Generals - played 2 hours 6players NO FREEZE UP
James Bond Nightfire - 1.2 hours NO FREEZE UPS
Enter the Matrix - 30mins NO FREEZE UPS
Note: All of the above games before latest Bios Flash would barely get past Intro Videos before Freezing with 8XAGP Support Enabled
KingPin (DirectX7 game) - NO FREEZE UPS
Played this game to test a lower quality 3D game to make sure there was no 'trade-off'. Lower quality 3D games like GTAIII and KingPin never had previous problems at 8XAGP.
Note: I noticed that NV2000 when re-entering the Bios after the Flash that he selected
Load default Settings.
What I did differently is I did not make any changes to my BIOS Settings after the Bios Flash, nor did I select the Load Bios Default The ONLY thing I changed was
8XAGP SUPPORT to ENABLE. I checked all other settings and nothing else had seemed to have changed, including my memory timmings of 7-2-2-2.
I will reserve my final judgement till after playing more types of 3D Games for longer periods and completing different benchmark tests. I was really impressed with my 3DMark2003 score improvement form 1850 to 3871 with my Video card settings set to max (all the eye candy turned on).
But so far so good !!!! I can now have 8XAGP Support ENABLED !!!!!! for the first time since buying this Mother-of-a-board. Email HenryH@msicomputer.com to obtain the Bios
