Outdoors bat.boohoo.worm can't get rid of it!!

Hi, need help. I get the lucky task of being my fathers web adviser(moving 3,000 miles away didn't get me out of the task!) I have his system with win 2000 pro, norton system works, antivirues, and all the updates and he uses the paid version netzero (which is where I think these 5 virsus a month come from )

Today he has been hit with bat.boohoo.worm. Nortom detected it, but it has already gotten into the registry and created a hacked admin. cleaver, very clever. I have followed all the instructions on symtec and the registry entries will not remove. I think the worm has taken admin control. Spybot does not detect this new worm and anything on symtec doesn't work.

Any suggestions?
thanks-

Talk thanks

groundzero:

thanks for your help. It took me two scans of housecall and three scans for norton, a boohoo, and a hack , blabla bla file after file, there were about 10 in all. they have all been removed and now i am just repairing the registry. and i have set up zone alarm, and updated everything, and raised the cookie levels. that should help. thanks --- i appreciate it.

PS:do you know of any good web sites that tell you what all the error messages that windows generate and what they mean? so next time i get an error message on the system for something like a .dll I can find out what file it is attached to?

thanks
