Outdoors windows won't let me overclock???

Okay, so I've put together my rig

Abit ic7-g
geil golden dragon 3500
2.4c
aiw 9800 pro

It can run stock okay, but now when i increase the fsb just 5, i get a blue screen saying "bad_sys_config_info" and that it stopped loading windows because it wants to protect my hardware.

WTF????? anyone see anything like this before?

Yep, mine is the same way. It is something in your system (most likely a pci or IDE device) that is super sensitive to the PCI bus not being exactly 33. Not much you can do about it :-/

Well then u are using integrated audio and such? They too are based off the 33mhz pci clock ratio. I.E. if it goes up-they go up including your hdd. Some are that sensitive. Its odd that is so low though. Most hdds are spec up to 40mhz for the ide. That means within 10% oclock your not pushing it to data loss etc. Same with pci devices. Mostly you can COUNT on a 10% bus deviation being factored in. I never heard of a fsb within 10% of stock having hdd or pci issues. This is weird-Ill give ya that. Interested to hear if you figure it out.

I have to agree with Xtreeme except that it could be any one thing, including mem, cpu and the board.
All components can be the exact same in 2 boxes yet one will OC better then the other (I did this first hand).
Any one of your components may be sensitive to the OC your attempting.
BTW, ran a IBM HD in my internet box with 150 FSB 24/7 fine.
Upgraded the HD to a maxtor without changing anything else and i can only do 143 FSB without random crashes. The Maxtor doesn't like the OC yet i've heard of other people running the same drive at FSB speeds at 150 and higher. Luck of the draw I suppose.

Well, I think that my ide cable not being plugged completely in may have had something to do with it

Got it up to 283 fsb @ 3.4 ghz ; runs stable everything except prime, which quits after 1 hr. 280 is stable though
