how to remove X stop

so this sounds like it shouldn't be here but i think it should.

somehow x stop got installed on my friends PC i'm fairly sure no one else uses it. he seems to think it might have been on/in something he downloaded/installed.

i sugested reinstall windows. is there some other way to remove this. he said its not in add/remove programs and he can't find any files for it

i should add that he really dosn't like it being on it.

xp pro is the windows on it

Did he try adaware or spybot...could remove it from reg and delete folder its contained in, in program files...if its running in backround and wont let you delete...reboot into safe mode and do it from there.

have him try doing a search for anything related ...might direct him to where something is hiding.

.
IE = Avant = IE

Avant is just a pretty skin for IE that adds functionality

OK I did a little research and X-Stop is a controversial filtering program that you pay for and have to activate...it is from GO Concepts Inc. and is a filter for adult content among other things...it filters e-mail and web pages.... Did he activate it?
-------------
When I said do a search...I meant he can right click on "My Computer" and choose "Search" and use "x" and "stop" and "go"
to find files or folders it may be hiding in so he can erase the file or folder that contains the program...

I'm the friend

I did not intentionally install or activate, nor am I paying for the X-stop software.
