Power save Mode?
how do you know its in power save mode?
could be a underpowered Power supply finally gave way under stress of upgrades...HP gives you a PSU that just barely covers the Min. requirements of the computer THEY set up so that upgrades have to be done through them.

If it IS the PSU then it may not be so easy to replace as a standard ATX.
May have proprietary cables or size to fit case.
This tells you how to power up a power supply without it being connected to the motherboard for testing purposes... Unplug power cord from back of computer...unhook all cables from the computer including Mobo connector.(ALL)( you dont HAVE to take the PSU out of the case but I suggest it.)...take a bent paper clip and make a U shape out of it...wrap the bend in electrical tape if your skittish,... insert one end into the socket with the only green wire going to it...insert the other into any socket with a black wire going to it ( just to clarify I'm talking about the large connector from the motherboard.) ... plug in PSU and flip power switch on back if it has one. If nothing happens it is most likely dead and you need a higher wattage PSU replacement.
