Fixing Dual boot Problem

I have a dual boot, W2k and 98.

I have not used 98 in a few months. Alright maybe a year.

The 2K boots fine and it is my primary vehicle. The problem is, when selected, the 98 option will not boot past DOS, claiming an error or corruption in files relating to the cd drive.

Can I format the C (98) drive, without compromising the E (2000) drive.

Anything in the C (98) drive can be sacrificed.

I can not afford to lose any of the W2k drive info, but , I do have it backed up.

Lazy me I want an easy way to do this. I have looked at MS for help, but I am not smart enough to interperet the answers they give.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Tarp

I may be wrong here but I think part of your 2K boot is located on the C drive. I'm not sure if you will be able to recover the 2K after the format.

Of course this can be done.
Once you format C drive, make the E Drive master, boot off of the 2k CD and fix the master boot record.
