PHP script to search file?

Hi,

I have been reading THIS for the past hour trying to figure out if it is what I need or not. I am a newb when it comes to PHP. Basically, what I am trying to do is search through a text file on the server and return data, if any, matching what I am searching for. Can anyone help me with this? I dont even know if there is another function that I should be using instead. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I actually found a script on hotscripts.com to do it but then I changed the way I had everything set up and now im using a data base instead of a file. Thanks anyway though.
