Decisions, decisions.....

OK guys, im new here (you can thank GroundZero3 for that), and I have a pretty big question. I am planning to upgrade here in a few months, and I love Asus motherboards, so I was planning to purchase a new one. However, I have heard a bunch of things that the N-force chipset is very buggy, and the SiS chipsets for Asus don't give me performance I want. I want a board that has 8x AGP and DDR400 support and was going to purchase a Barton 2500+ for it. I know Asus has a Via chipsetted board, but I haven't heard ANYTHING about it, so I was just wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions on what to do. BTW, I have an XP 2100+, A7S333 board, and 768M DDR2100, and a Radeon9000 Pro (128MDDR), is it really time to upgrade or should I just buy a new mobo and transfer the stuff over to it?

Are you planning to overclock much?
The only fault I have found with the nForce2 chipset is if you try to push it too far, it can lock, and an RMA is required.... beyond that, I love it!!

well, I haven't actually done any overclocking ever, so I wasn't planning on overclocking.

The Nforce 2 is the fastest AMD chipset out, but it does have its fair share of bugs and it has compatibilty issues with certain RAM manufactores.

Your setup sounds fine, I dont se much of a reason to get a better CPU but I do se a reason to get a better motherboard.
The KT 600 is almost as fast as the Nforce 2 Chipset but not as buggy, there are different board manufactores to choose from, personally I would go with the MSI KT6 Delta.
