Norton Disk Doctor error message???

My Norton AV program kicks in, everytime I start my computer up in the morning. Recently a message flashes up stating this:

The other operating system, or another process currently has exclusive access to this drive, or some of its files. Norton Disk Doctor cannot continue with a repair under these conditions. A repair can be scheduled to occur next time you restart your system. Do you want to schedule one?

I've said yes and still this message flashes up.
Does anybody know what "other" operating system would have exclusive access, or any pointers on what to check?

sounds like you have disk doctor programmed to start up upon bootup. poke around in the diskdoctor and see if you can cancel NDD upon bootup.

it also sounds like you are running win xp. i think ,in win xp anyway,you only can run NDD upon bootup. thats normal.

but not everytime your machine starts.

somewhere there is a box/button or something that you need to uncheck to disable NDD everytime you restart your puter.

i only have NAV installed,and i run the other utilities off of the cd.

Not true, you can run DD at any time your machine is up.
IMO you do not need to run this at every boot-up. The only time I run DD is before I run Speed Disk.
Look under options to disable having DD run on boot-up.
As far as the conflicts, have you been doing the live updates on a regular basis? I check updates on a weekly basis just for the NAV updates (manually). I'm running Systemworks though, perhaps your running Norton Utilities only?
Either way, I stay on top of the updates and have had very few problems with Norton / Symantec apps.

OK, I did as you suggested, and disabled DD from starting at boot up. I then went into the program and tried to run diagnose again. The same message appeared...

Have you done "Live Update" ?
