beeeep, beep beep.

Hey dudes, havin a bit of trouble with a board.
wont boot, gives me the beeps.
One longish beep followed by two shorter beeps. Sis chipset board with onboard video. Was gonna use it for a linux server, but dunno whats goin on with it at the moment. While i was out this afternoon dad decided to have a go at gettin it up and going. He decided to reseat the ram, put it in backwards and smoked the stick lol.
P5S - VM the board is.
Any ideas where i can find the fault codes?

AFAIK, no they are not standard. You need to know your beep codes. If you don't have a manual handy, then just start looking around. I would suggest you giive this new fangled Interweb-thingy a try. Take whatever info you can find on your motherboard (manufacturer name, board name, model number, revision number, serial number, anything you can find) and one by one, plug the info into that Interweb search motor and see what comes up.

A bargain bin mobo? That just has disaster written all over it doesn't it?
OuT has the right idea. You have to find whatever information you can find and go and give google a try. Eventually you will start getting hits for it.

I don't believe that beep codes are standard, but I do run across a lot of similar ones.
