PC with a personality

Out of curiosity me and my friend decided to change his PC's FSB and multiplyers.

His machine

AMD Athlon XP 2200+
MSI K7N2 MOBO
512 MB of PC 2700


So I set the multiplyer to 13 and his FSB to 138, no luck had to reset the BIOS.We tryed multiple times with no success, well something had went wrong with his MOBO's reset so we were stuck with a lemon untill my friend walked upstairs which at this time I was downstairs still. I decided to turn it on and VOILA it boots up, well then we started trying different variations of FSB and multiplyer settings, what do you know it happenes again, after giving it time and multiple restarts I got desperate and told my friend to walk upstairs, I turn it on a it boots up.

Wow, that is really wierd. My PC decides Ive had too much time on the net by crashing, and not finding the LAN card after a reboot.

When your friends was downstairs, did you give the computer enough time to cool down before trying to boot it up again?

Sometimes taking the powercord out and plugging it back in will help in booting up a system.

We gave it plenty of time while he was downstairs. But the second in he walked upstairs.
