Kids Suspicious Emails

Hello,
I am new to your site and am looking for some guidance.
I got an email a few days ago from some man claiming to work for "PrudentBank"and he needed my bank info right away:
Of course I did not send this Freak anything but would like to report it , and maybe if it is not legit then can get the Scam Artist.
Here is a portion of the email, and any advise would be great!!!
"Mr Barry Kelly, while our customer never left a trace of his next of kin, and His contract Payment which is about 10 million US dollars, would be made to no one as we( the bank) has none of his Data/next of kin's contact.

my proposal is that I will like you
to stand in as the next of kin to Mr. Barry Kelly so
that the fruits of this old man's labour will not get into the hands
of some corrupt government officials, ....
This is simple, I will like you
to provide immediately your bank account information which you know is suitable to accomodate this funds and
your full names and address so that i can include it in the next of kin database" ----Sound like a Scam doesn't it..

Definitely. There are many scams going around. Several ask for info from your bank, while others ask for your eBay or Paypal information to clear up your account which has been frozen. They are very clever. You have to be suspicious of any emails that are unsolicited, no matter how official they look.

yup a scam, as for reporting it it most likely will be a fruitless task and not worth even to bother. You will get plenty of these over the time you have an email address. just add that person to you block and you should be fine.

there is an email address you can forward the email for officals to look at and investigate

Thanks!!
I used the Web site you listed to report it. Sad isn't it that people are always trying to "con" some one. I am always really careful about email that is "unknown" to me. I would just like to see this kinda junk busted for its wrong doing and cloggin up the web. Thanks again for the advise!
