i have a Nextel phone and i had it placed under my monitors screen on my desk. i just started to notice that my monitor was having a problem. the problem being that it was or seemed to be missing a line if pixels at random places on my monitor for breff seconds and when the problem occored i heared a ticking sound commin from my monitor. i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this . i also have had my cell phone interfer with the radio in my truck if i have it on or near the dash. im hoppin that this is caused by my cell phone an not my monitor going bad. at least it is under warrantee. i have removed my cell phone from my desk and the problem has sence stopped. i will post if the problem returns
a cell phone will definatly affect monitors. if mine is close to the monitor (1-2 ft.) it will cause the monitor to glitch every few minutes. also.....a few seconds before a call comes in it will glitch. actually....kinda nice when i'm gaming with headphones on....i know there's a call coming in then! i'm sure there's a scientific reason such as the signal coming into the phone from the tower will cause the phone to give off a signal to disrupt the picture. it's like putting a pair of unshielded speakers right next to the monitor.....will screw it up too.
Yep, this is very common. I have mine next to a Sun monitor that seems to be unaffected though. I suppose it's because of all the RFI shielding inside the case. If I put my cellphone next to my Viewsonic, it goes nuts.
