Look at this headset!

http://www.bestbyte.net/Product.cfm?...ID=10&Keyword=

I don't understand them. They "vibrate"? How does that work? I'm looking to buy a new headset since my old one died. Something cheap/good. Like we all want. I found another pair on newegg for the same price, but these say they have a subwoofer in them? And they are force feedback? I simply don't get how they work. I can't find ANY reviews or discussions on them either.

thanks

Frequency response:
5Hz-25Hz

Thats how they vibrate. You can barely hear anything at that low a frequency. But you can feel it.

I belive they have tiny motors in them. Somewhat like the ones in the Playstation controllers. I tried a set of those headphones at a computer show once. They're kinda cool for about five minutes, then they start to get annoying.

The typcial hearing range is maybe 100Hz to 15KHz. Some people can hear as low as 20Hz and above 15KHz. When someone designs speakers or headsets usually the frequency response covers the entire audible range. Some sound systems have speakers dedicated to certain frequency ranges. Tweeters are speekers that carry the high frequency component, midrange outputs sounds from 1Khz to 8Khz (this is an estimate) a woofer lmaybe 600Hz to 200Hz and a subwoofer is extremely low frequencies similar to those headsets you post about.

Those headsets are subwoofer headsets. Don't buy them and expect to hear normally through them.

Wierd. Why would they sell speakers that don't emit sound? The website say they are great for Quake3!

I should scrounge up the money just to get a pair and tell you guys about them.

Oh i get it now. They use the "subwoofer" to do the vibrating. Interesting.

You will hear any sound between 100Hz and 20KHz, some people can hear above 20KHz, but not many - only normally dogs and cats (picture a dog whistle).

Bass sounds are normally between 600Hz down to 200Hz.

Sub Bass is anything under 200 HZ - Anything lower than 50 Hz you will hear, but it sorta feels weird - Gets you in the stomach.

These headsets emulate the sound you would hear/feel if you went to the cinema and watched a film in DTS/Dolby Digital at high volume i.e. you will hear everything, and also feel the loud explosions gun shots etc that are loooooooow bass.

They sound great. Well not actually, as I havn't heard them, but they sound great on paper

If I could get a pair in the UK, I would buy them straight out - No hesitation. I like to hear/feel my music/audio etc, unfortunately, my neighbours DO NOT. In order to feel the music, it has to be loud, these headsets will give you the full music spectrum without 'waking the dead'

should I get some just to see?

Oh, but do they produce NORMAL sounds? Or just low bass. If they only emit low frequencies (and have to be used with other speakers or soemthing) they would be stupid and pointless to buy. If they produce normal sound but then have an ultra low bass thingy in them I will get them.
