via chipset combined with zip drive Help plz

my teacher at school is having problems with the via chipset on an asus mobo. The pc freezes up every once and a while when accessing the zip drive. It doesn't do it with the nvidia chipset. Does anyone else have this prob and does anyone know how to fix it.

couple of things: update the zip drivers if they have not been updated...then if that doesnt work try the update the chipset they are downloads at the asus site. If that doesnt work i would uninstall the software with that came with the zip drive and remove it in from the computer. Then reinstall the software and attach the zip drive. Good luck
