Wow, 1.5GB a week? that sucks (im assuming its Gigabyte not Gigabit).
Well if all you do is join games and not host, xbox connnect takes about 128Kb/s upload (16K/sec uploading)
I wouldnt really worry about it

thanks for the info,
sorry about crapping the thread, in my thread i got an answer to use xbox connect, instead of trying my luck at having someone who knows xbox connect stumble accross, i decided to post in here since the people who were in this thread knew xbc. sorry for any inconvenience caused by my stupidity

I'm sure if they cared enough they could figure it out. Due to all of the stuff giong on with colleges and music sharing it wouldnt surprise me if they're monitoring what you do, especially with high bandwidth usage. However, if it were me I wouldnt worry about it until they said somethign to me
Im surprised they are so anal about internet access.

yea its 1.5 gb/week upload/download limit, first two times you go over it caps you at 56kb/s (i think) for the rest of the week, the third time caps you at that for the rest of the semester, and if by some chance you go over while with that cap a 4th time, your internet is taken away. they do monitor the bandwidth semi-heavily (3 times a day the run a check on all the ports) but they garuntee that they do not and will not check the content, only the usage.
do you think it is safe for the xbox live since they say "X-Boxes and Playstation 2 game consoles are not allowed to be connected to the Residence Hall network and is in violation of the Connection Agreement. These can put a student over their limit in less than 8 hours."?

Hey guys new here. I also like to play xbc. Here is how I set mine up, very simple. I have a motorola surfboard for cable internet. On the back there are 2 ways to connect to your computer either trhough usb or through nic. The way I did it was to connect my pc via usb and connect my xbox directly into the back of the cable modem. Works perfectly. Here is a link that might help otherwise. http://www.xbchelp.com/network/
Lets get a game going somtime.
