If you rewired it you might have connected the power into the restart slot on the mobo. More info please.

go to control panel and check power options make sure the power scheme is on home/desktop....you might have it setup funny there.

i did change to home/desktop on the power options.
but still doesnt work..... :\

Advanced Power Management.... it needs to be enabled in Windows. This is only if your computer is set up as Standard PC and not ACPI. Also check your BIOS power settings.

nothing helps.

pc still restarts when i press turn off in the os!
even i reinstalled the os and installed win 2000!

how comes?

could it be the drivers of the mobo?
