No, the only reason to update is if there is something in the new bios you need. You may want to install a faster chip, for instance, and need to make your board capable to use it. The manufacturer offers a "updated" bios to support the faster chip using the same board.
If your needs are currently supported, there is no need to upgrade unless the manufacturer specifically recommends it for stability reasons (which is rare).
