Cheap, but effective Heatsink
Does anyone know where I can find a cheap, but effective heatsink, because my temps are averaging at 51 C while my friends under 40 AND he's oc'd. But he is using the Thermalright SLK-800. I really don't have much money, I'm just looking for a temporary solution till I can afford the SLK-900.
**edit**
Oh, and I'm using an AMD Athlon XP "Barton" 2500+

Speeze Model 5F263B1M3 (Rated for up to XP3000)
Available for $7 + $5 S&H from Newegg
(Or, for $2 more, you can get the copper core version)
It does a good job of cooling, its cheap & its quiet. Unless you are into heavy overclocking, you might decide you don't even need to upgrade.

I think I'm just going to go and get the Thermalright SLK-800 with the Tornado 80mm 84CFM Fan. I just have one question, is there any way to remove the power supply in the Antec case to install the heatsink so I don't have to take the whole motherboard out again. Because that would save me a load of trouble.

im selling a vantec aeroflow, brand new, used for 1 hour for $25 shipped.
As for taking the p/s out, unscrew the screws around back and make sure you hold it, so it doesnt fall on your mobo. Also, what case do you have that you need to take the p/s out to put in a h/s?

That Vantec shawshank62 has, is a really good HSF too.
The Thermalright SLK-800 with the Tornado 80mm 84CFM Fan is an AMAZING combo...just watch out for the frost!
I take it you have a MicroATX case that has the Power supply sideways to save room?...or is it just right at edge of the board and making it difficult to remove heatsink?

Yes, it's sideways, but I can't get the screwdriver at an angle because the PS is in the way. I think I will just take the whole mobo out, sure it will be a lot of trouble but it will be worth it, the sound of the mobo cracking gives me nightmares. Oh, and I was wondering about those hardrive coolers, is it worth it to get one?
