go to outlook express....click tools,options,security...then uncheck "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened blah blah"

If its greyed out there is a little registry mod that needs doing.

I wouldn't want OE opening attachments. Can it save the attachments? I'd save them and open them with whatever application is appropriate.

Better yet, I'd save them, virus check them, then open them with the appropriate app.

If OE can't open or save them, then check the settings in your antivirus program.

Ah, John beat me to the punch. He's probably more correct than I am too. I'm not a regular OE user.

Depending on your anitvirus progam, it can scan the attachments as they arrive in the inbox. Norton AV does, and I think the freebie AVG can do it as well.

But OuT is correct. Don't open attachments (especially unsolicited ones) until the have been sacnned. Some bad viruses out there.

Cheers
Mick

After you uncheck the box, which allows you to open or save attachments..there is still another prompt that asks if you want to open it etc...so I guess its to keep you from getting burned like by that thing where you get the virus just by "previewing" the email.
