BEFWS114 and AIM

I have a Linksys BEFWS114 connected to four computers using the built-in ethernet cable ports. When I am using AOL Instant Messenger I get disconnected all the time except on one computer. The IP on that computer is 192.158.1.103. The other ones (100, 101, 102) get disconnected about every three minutes. What is the problem?

AIM uses port 5190. Do you have a firewall setup? You may need to forward that port for AIM to work properly. I'm not sure about multiple pc's behind a firewall. I would go to the AIM website a search the FAQs or tech support.

I've had similar issues using the BEFW11S4. You shouldn't need to open up a port unless you're trying to directly connect or if you're transfering files.. but it might be worth a try. For me it seems to do this (disc every few mins) but randomly occurs for about 10 minutes at a time (normally about once every few days). Does it keep happening indefinately with yours?

Quite honestly I think its may just be a server-side problem b/c some of my friends have experianced this as well that dont use the router (or any at all for that matter).

Come to think of it, I did open up port 5190 to 5193 on computer 103. I didn't think that it would be an issue because I only opened up that port for direct connecting. I'll try opening those ports up for the other computers.

One more question: there are only 10 slots for me to open up ports, but I might need more for gaming purposes (Warcraft III and Starcraft LAN games). How do I open up more ports? I tried putting a big range of numbers. For example, I have the following ports open:

4443 for AIM Direct Connect
5190 to 5193 for AIM File Transfer
6112 for Warcraft III

I have four computers, so 10 slots isn't sufficient (4 comps x 3 entries = 12 > 10 available entries). I tried putting a wide range, specifying the router to open up ports 4443 to 6112 and also tried 4443 to 5190, but to no avail. Anyone have any solutions?
