Painting a CRT?
My monitor is white and my case is black and I want them to match. ITs a KDS VS-17. Can I just take the platic case off spray paint it put a few coats of clear coat on it then put it back on? Is it safe taking the cover off?

I've seen articles on the net about this and as far as i know it is
but be careful the capacitors in those things hold lots of charge for long time periods so unplug it and let it sit for a long time before taking it apart. You should be able to make it work.

Yes... I have done this myself...first time I tried to tape off the screen and paint whole thing...didnt work well so I took it all apart.
just dont touch the internals in case of electrical discharge.
use "Fusion" plastic/nylon Dye spray for best results

I painted my monitor, without taking the case off.
Of course it's some old 17" nokia that has no real value anymore

I painted it and waiting for it to dry. The spray paint attacked me(bad nozzel).
