TMD Fan just stopped...

I have a TR2-M2 Heatsink on my xp1800 with a 70mm TMD fan...
I was adjusting the speed on it when I noticed how quiet it was and how my temp started rising, so I opened my case and found that it had suddenly just STOPPED spinning. I immediately shut off my computer for a few seconds, then restarted it.
It came back on and is now working normal again.

Do these fans have some sort of defect or something??
I'm afraid to leave it running when I'm not around anymore...

Well. (hes gonna not like this). Yes the first T.M.D.'s were defective and RECALLED. For instance my Vantec Aeroflow uses it. But they assure everyone that if bought from reputable vendor (online store/mom pop shop) that the defective ones have been returned and the one you get is tested be sound. BUT not all vendors did return them. Some choose to ignore since it was a hassle to send back and all. LOL. I got my at newegg-and I know they returned bad ones when recall happend. Thats the egg, very trustworthy. So dont know- it may be bad, maybe not. Contact who you bought from and see if they ever knew about the recalls. If not Id change it for a new one jus tto be sure.
