i have a virus in my comp, how do i remove it safely?

hey guys, i just ran an onlne virus scan at pcpitstop.com and hear is what it said:

The W32/EnerKaz Virus was found in file C:\System Volume Information\_restore{F3D55889-77AB-4139-8854-9EBF39873EA8}\RP264\A0077888.exe

how do i remove it safely without doing any damage to my system?

It sounds like a System Restore point was set while you had the virus.

If you're using XP Home/Pro, disable the System Restore by right-clicking "My Computer", "Properties" tab, "System Restore" tab.

After it has been disabled, go into "My Computer" and there should be a hidden/system folder called "System Volume Information". You can safely delete it.

Go back in and turn System Restore back on, and the "System Volume Information" will magically reappear.

i can't find that file evil rick. i did an online scan at the website that meese suggested, but it said there was no virus found, WTF?

You need to have "View hidden and system folders" enabled in explorer, go to view->options and enable it.
To safely delete the System Volume Information without having XP throw a wobbly, you must first diable system restore. Go to services, and disable the System Restore Service. Then you can delete the directory.
