Outdoors PLease Help Switching hard drives

First off i'm tired, it's 8 o'clock and I started this easy migrating task a little after the tom green show (he's funny dude ). Not laughing anymore, ok here's the deal I d/l acronis migrate crap, install it, free up a little space on the drive that I planned on booting on from now on. Everything going good tells me to shutdown. I change to jumpers from mas to sla and vice versa. When get the computer back together it boots fine, I put my pass and user in on the log on screen tells me that it is logging off but it hangs, i mean if you're going to tell me your logging off, then do so. So in short does anybody know a way or program that turn bigger ntfs drive to master and my fat32 drive as the slave for someone who is retarded like me, and thx in advance!!

I wonder if it is a hardware issue.... If both drives are on the same IDE bus (same cable), then the older drive might be pushing the newer drive to a less compatible mode.... can you put the older drive on a different IDE bus, and try running that way to see if everything shutsdown without hanging?

HTH, and welcome to TechIMO!

Um, why not try to just put ONE drive in at a time for starters. Start with the drive you just copied ONTO (ie the one you want to use as new which acronis copied all the data onto).

I think it might be a boot issue, where it is detecting the OLD partition and trying to boot form it, rather than the new partition. What OS is it? XP or 2k, I presume?

Cheers
Mick
