Outdoors On Board Sound

Hey Guys, new to the forum and such so I just wanted to ask you guys if anyone can solve this problem cause it really annoys me.

Alright I just bought the ASUS P4C800 Motherboard with Onboard 6.1 channel sound, now Im thinking ASUS - 6.1 channel onboard sound has to be good, well the sound quality is awesome but I have like little Pops in my audio, like its not too annoying but after awhile It pisses me off, It happens when I play games and play mp3's. Any suggestions on how I can solve this? Or perhaps just purchase an Audigy 2 perhaps? Please help me out here

Sound like a similar problem to what I had with my Crystal SoundFusion chip. First, if it's when you are playing mp3's, switch media players. I know that Winamp was causing my audio to crack and pop, and when I played something else in WiMP it stopped.

Next try uninstalling and reinstalling drivers for your audio chip. This may do the trick if it's software-related, so check it out.

Hope this helps!

Welcome to TechIMO!

My vote would go for reinstalling the IDE and chipset drivers (get the newest versions ya can find), along with the lastest audio drivers.

I get a similar thing on with my onboard sound, but only when doing VERY heavy disk intensive operations.

WMP causes music to pop&crack on my onboard audio, winamp plays it just fine.

So yeah, try switching players/drivers
