First mod done, already have ideas for more

I've been thinking of various ways to make my nice new machine look cool. I finally took the plunge and covered all the wires in brightly colored, UV reactive sleeves. I finished the ends with heat-shrink tubing to make it look good and have no frayings on the ends. (I had to use electrical tape on two of em, as I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the extra 12v molex off and the ATX molex used the same method. The 3/4" HS tubing I had was way too big when shrunk to fit snugly and the 3/8" wouldn't fit over the molex. I don't like this, but it's not too bad.) The UV reactive stuff doesn't UV react enough for my taste, so I have a blue CC tube in it as well. I'll most likely end up replacing the UV tube with a red one in the future. I'm planning on taking pictures when I get a digital camera and post them for all to admire. (In other words, laugh at how I consider popping the molexes off wires and running them through sleeving to be 'modding'. )

I have ideas for my next mods and would like to run em by a few of the guys here first.

I want to turn one of my empty 5.25" bays into a monitor bay, with R and L sound indicaters on it, much like the ones on my stereo receiver only multi-colored. I also want to mount the switch for the CC inverter on the side of this plate instead of having it just hanging out the back of the case. Mounting the switch is gonna be no big deal, but I'm hesitent about the VU meter. I saw an article on here about doing it, but was wondering if anybody here has done something like this in the past.

The other thing I have in mind deals with my video card RAM chips. I've noticed they get somewhat warm, even with the HSF on the GPU. I have a bunch (about 10) heatsinks w/out fans from junk cards and was wondering if there would be any advantage/disadvantage to having these mounted on the RAM chips. I'd have to cut the HS to size, then sand the edges and somehow fasten it down.

Anybody have any thoughts/comments/ideas as to how to proceed with either of my ideas? (Or if I even should?)

Sounds cool. Another guy had a Lian-Li case (PC-60 I believe), and he put a row of LED's in the holes used for fan grills in the front of his case. Then he wired it up to his soundcard somehow, and they act as an audio meter in games, music apps, and windows.

Wow, that sounds awsome. I would love to put a row or two of LEDS in a blank drive bay cover. And hook it up so that the louder the sound gets, (or the deaper or what ever) the more of the lights to the right light up. Like on a sterio. How can you do that?

This is for adding heatsinks to your mobo but is the same principle for the ramsinks on a video card.
