Right-Click Lockup

Howdy all.

Every time I right-click on my desktop, or try to make a new folder my system locks completely and I have to do a hard reboot...

Any suggestions?

Hardware Specs:
AMD XP-1900
512 MB PC2700 Ram
Gigabyte GA-7VRXP mobo
Leadtek Ti-4400 video
Audigy 5.1 sound
Maxtor 60GB ATA133 7200rpm HD
MS Optical Intellimouse Explorer USB (reinstalled drivers to check it)

Software:
WinXP Home w/ SP1
Latest Internet Explorer
Norton SW 2001

There is nothing in the event viewer to show the crashes and it happens EVERY time.

Thanks
Thrackmoor

Man, I'm almost hurting myself. This *exact* same thing happened to me about 3-4 months ago at work, but I don't remember what I did to fix it. This is so aggervating! If I remember what I did, I'll post back.

msconfig XP
no msconfig in XP but there is a download to help set start programs, you may have too many things running in the background

Well, I did the msconfig and booted into diagnostic mode... the problem went away. I went back to normal boot and Windows said I needed to reactivate it... I did the reactivation and everything seems fine... for now...

Thanks again folks,
Thrackmoor
