What card to get?
I am willing to spend $150 for a card, I play games like battlefield 1942 and half life and it needs to perform well in those.
ASUS A7N8X-X Mobo
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Someone gimme an idea of what cards are good for that price, I am thinking of getting a Radeon 9600, wanted a 9500 Pro but they are to pricy.

Basically, in ascending order, The performance will be 9600 Pro, GeForce FX 5600 Ultra, 9500 Pro. If you don't mind missing out on DX9, the Ti4400/4800SE and 4600/4800 slide into that performance bracket, too.
So, overall, including the DirectX 8 parts, in ascending order, it would look like:
GF4 Ti4200
Radeon 9600 Pro
GF FX 5600 Ultra
GF4 Ti4400/4800 SE
Radeon 9500 Pro
GF4 Ti4600/4800
They should be able to be had around your price range, if you look pretty thoroughly.

If your comfortable overclocking, the 9600 can be ran at 9600 Pro speeds. Just remember, the 9500 Pro is faster than the 9600 Pro. |

Just to make it clear ... You are saying that the 9500pro gives better general performance in both dx8 and dx9 than the 9600pro, right? (if so, I concur)

Dale.
