Systems help on k7s5a pro

i just got back my mobo from the seller for replacement. it seems right now i get no video or keys ect. i tried a few different ram specially the ones that was in it before. i am wondering will the cpu do this aswell no keys and no video as well. i am using a amd 2000 xp. the reason y i sent it in was i heard a pop and it powered down and then the same thing. now board is new and i do not want to resend this item back knowing it is new. what should i work on next cpu ?
thank you for replys

What do you mean by keys?
the K7S5A's are notorious for having issues with power supplys and with memory.
I would try to power it up with only the Video card, 1 stick of memory and the CPU HSF plugged in ONLY. See what that does and then post back.

Well, I guess the original problem is that the power supply is dead, not the mainboard.

Just with the mobo? No CPU, no RAM?

Send it back I have a stack of ECS mobo's that have the same problem. I no longer build systems with them because of this and the fact that it is hard to get tech assistance. (we are talking about the ECS k7s5a right?) The funny thing is the ones that do work have never had any end user reported problems, except for a few sound issues but that is with the onboard sound.

Well duh. Who do you think executes the BIOS software that operates the beeper IF YOU DON'T PUT A FREAKING PROCESSOR IN THERE?

Rather than hurting your retailer's bottom line by yet another RMA of a perfectly good mainbaord, I rather suggest you get local assistance in building this computer.
