I believe you can choose the folder you want for people to have access to. I would choose a folder that only has stuff you want them to see. Don't put anything else in there. make sure you only give the READ attribute to that folder. With that program you should have pretty good control over file access.

okay first off you don't want to by sharing those kind of folders off. create a folder on your desktop or where ever you choose and use that as your home directory. (or if for some reason you cant do this, when you are setting up the users accounts. click miscellaneous, then click the option hide files/dirs with hidden attributes. Of course you will need to go the properties of these files you don't wanting showing and make them hidden, also dont give them write, append, or delete premissions in these folders and you should be fine)
you will need to tell us what kind of Internet service you are using? (dial up, cable, Dsl, t1 etc.)
then how your computer is set up. is there a router? or is it just one computer? And also are you using any time of software firewall

First, i have made a home directory, and when i made it i put 2 files in it to test and when my client connected 3 files showed up the 2 i put in and another .db file, but i can only veiw the file through my client, when i access the file in windows the file is not there.
Second, i have i cable connection.
Third, it is just the humble home pc.
Fourth, i am using norton personell firewall 2002.
can you explain to me why the file is only showing on my client and not in Windows Explorer ?
My specs are AMD AthlonXP 2200+ 1.8Ghz
256mb
40Gb HD
NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX
everything is OK apart from that file thing cant explain this one.

Hmmm... Not sure? Is the .db files possibly hidden and you don't have "view hidden files and folders" activated, and for some reason its hidden on your pc, but the attributes don't work on the ftp client? I'm reaching here. Maybe GZ3 has a better answer. (hoping )

(hoping ) | thats what it sounds like. open my computer. click tools> folder options> click view> and then show hidden files and folders. you should be able to see theses files now.
did you click that option to hide the file in bp like i said?
also do you use the thumbnail view when you open your folders?

ftp servers have the ability to display hidden files. Changing the folder options won't have an effect in that.
That is, if the ftp server supports this option.
It's all about the vfs/pfs.

no i thought that you had to hide the files only in windows explorer. i will take a look in bp user accounts to see if i can tinker with the options and I'll let yous now how it goes.
