Pc Freezing Problem !

Hey guys , I need some help

I just formatted and reinstalled Xp pro . Now the problem is that the Mouse keeps lagging here and there and the other prob is that One out of 3 times my Internet explorer makes my pc Freeze and i need to restart. does that even after a clean install of xp ... so if anyone has any ideas plz let me know

well first off you have pc2100 and you need atleast pc 2700 . unless you have really good ram and it can overclock to pc2700 that might be your problem .

i know i need better ram ... im running my Cpu at 133fsb and the muti at 13x right now until i get some new ram

you dont need to upgrade the ram just yet.

have you done any of the windows updates?

did you load the newest via drivers for your chipset?

I just bought one of the Shuttle XPC mini PC intending to use the onboard sound...bad decision. I don't know about your onboard sound...but on mine it would lock up the system, freeze programs...general slowdowns...there was also a compatibility issue between the onboard sound and my Radeon 9500 pro...maybe try disabling the onboard sound and see what happens. I disabled mine...plugged in an Audigy2 card and all my troubles went away. Just a suggestion.

about the onboard sound the problem is that the only other card i have is a cheap little one ....
