Kids Putting a apple on a windows based network?

Hay All,
OK need info because I have no mac know-how at all. We have a new employee and he is a marketing dood so of course he comes in today with his mac and wants on the network to access the internet and his email ect. Now I can get to a screen that I have entered our domain name at and the thing did find the network but it can not access anything. Is there a log in or something? Or <fingers crossed>will a Mac just not run on our windows based network</fingers crossed>
Any help would be great thanks

Have you entered a Default Gateway? DNS Servers?

Do you have a DHCP server?

DHCP is a server that assigns IP addresses automatically to computer on a network. IF there is a DHCP server on the network that is. Otherwise you'll have to define the IP for the system.

Does the Apple have the TCP/IP networking protocol installed?

Just so you know, I'm out of my element with Macs, I've never used them. I'm just going through what I've done to get non Windows systems (Unix, Linux, OS/2) to work on a Windows TCP/IP network.

Perhaps there are some more Mac-savvy people that can help?

Sean

Worked easily for me with a cheap Linksys router, nothing extra---
Try MacLan http://www.miramar.com/miramarweb.ns..._pcm_downloads (free trial)

Or whip thru this for info: http://www.macwindows.com/tutorial.html

No I give all the nodes IP addresses but when I typed in the domian name it found the IP address of the nod I took off line.? I hear that it can be done but I may need the Co. to bye me a mac so that I do not mess up the new doods. Could be a good thing. But I still do not have the thing on line.
