Room With No AC?

I'm trying to move all my computers into a free bedroom in my house and use it as a computer room, since I have all my computers in my room.

Unfortunetly, the free bedroom has a broken AC unit.
If I move my computers in that room, would it be unhealthy for the PCs and how hot would it get in the room?

Or, can I get a cheaper alternative to getting the bedroom cool, and not spend a $150 on buying a new window AC unit.

Thanks.

I don't know how bad it is for the computers, but I think it would get pretty hot in there if your comps are anything like mine.

I have one computer in my bedroom, and it's always the hottest room in the house. That's with two doors open to let cool air in, AC turned on, a ceiling fan, and a floor fan. But maybe your computers won't get that hot.

Well, speaking from experience, you probably will be very warm in there. Now, in the dead of winter, that's not a bad thing ... you're getting free heat off your PCs while you work. However, in the heat of summer, generating all that extra heat is not pleasant. I would recommend getting the A/C unit fixed or replaced and then adding at least 1 box fan or oscillating fan to help circulate the air.

It would depend on what type of PCs you have, how many monitors, the regular room temperature, how long you're running the PCs for (i.e. 7/24 or only when you use it), etc, etc, etc...

Forget about the computers, do you want to spend time in there with all that and no AC? If I could have last week I'd have installed a window AC in every room. Even the fridge.

Anyone know how much energy they use? ($)

A nice 52" ceiling fan would work wonders for ya!

Hmmm?

Florida.

Summer.

No A/C.

Computer room.

At least a fan if only for me.

Fix the A/C.
