Hey all, this is another of those "design me a banner" requests. I've been recruited to update the Department of Forestry and Geology website at The University of the South. I don't have photoshop and my skills with the GIMP are limited to improving photos.
It can be whatever shape (within reasonable size) you wish, whatever design, and should probably include elements of both forestry and geology (trees and mountains? I dunno). The rest of the page will have a dark green theme (HTML color code #006633 or #006666, it hasn't been decided) with a plain old white background, so if you want drop shadows etc, no worries about transparency.
It doesn't have to be super professional-quality. For instance, attached is the Office of Domain Management logo, which is a page closely tied to this one.
